You may already be aware the “Ultimate REI System 2.0” software being released today. It’s being described as,
“…a software program that helps you do any type of deal in minutes. You can access the software from anywhere in the world, and in 5 minutes you can literally prepare complete short sale packages, REO packages, ‘justified offers’, land trusts and a number of other systems…it let’s you create any custom package you want…To analyze deals, you simply fill out one ‘intake form’, analyze the deal, and the package is done for you…It makes real estate fast, easy and profitable…It’s both Homer Simpson easy to use and engineer-level customizable.”
OK, admittedly this is promising a heck of a lot. So if you might be looking into this, here’s a short, unscripted interview I just had with Gerald about it. This is basically me getting right down to brass tacks with him about…
- What this software really is,
- What all it really does for an average, active real estate investor
- And who it’s ideally suited for.
Please Note: As of 2/13/09 sales for this software have been closed / sold out. However there is a “waiting list” you can subscribe to, in order to be notified upon re-release.)
You may also remember my post last week about this, “New Software Promises Ridiculously Awesome Systemization for REI Forms/Paperwork (Video)”. This interview is a follow up to that, frankly because a number of people specifically asked me for it. I’m happy to oblige.
My Personal Thoughts…
As I said, this software promises a lot in terms of saving time and enhancing the efficiency of your day-to-day REI endeavors.
I for one haven’t personally tested it yet. But after seeing the preview videos (1, 2 and 3) he’s put out and then talking to him myself about it, I’m pretty impressed with that I’ve seen and heard so far.
It looks like a marriage of software technology and systemization all about streamlining and simplifying your REI biz. If the idea resonates with you at all, then I’d say it’s definitely worth a look.

And I trust my short interview with Gerald will be helpful to anyone who’s sizing this up for yourself.
P.S. As always, your comments are welcome. And I’d especially love to hear from anyone with any previous experience with any version of Gerald’s software.
JP,
What are your thoughts on the $99/month recurring fee for the UREI 2.0 software?
I don’t like “hidden charge” type of surprises and this charge honestly made me feel that way because it was never mentioned until the order page.
In all honesty, is $99/month fair in your opinion?
Thanks,
Kevin
@Kevin –
Kevin,
The licensing fee gives you worldwide access to the software and unlimited updates and it’s on the sales page and order page. We have a real cost of maintaining data, security, support and give you essentially a world wide office.
Our software is kind of like “crack cocaine” for investors because once you’re on it you’re hooked. Proof? We have customers who purchased UREI 1 in 2007 who gladly pay the monthly licensing fee because of the value delivered in the software and the number of deals they could not otherwise do without the software.
Whether you value UREI 2.0 by the number of deals, systems contained therein, or your time I think you’ll find the price is next to nothing compared to the value delivered.
Hope that answers your question.
To Your Success!
Gerald Romine

Hi, Kevin. I’m glad to see Gerald chimed in and respond to you himself!
In my opinion it’s not so much a matter of “is it fair?” as it is, “is it worth it?” and “is it affordable for me?”
And the first question is a matter of value.
What’s your time worth? Seriously, put a dollar amount to your time. Then ask yourself if you considered this tool to be an “employee” you hired to manage all that it does, would this employee cost you less per hour than you deem your time is worth. In other words, will it save you money by freeing you up to make more money through a better use/allocation of your time.
And ultimately that question can only be answered by you, right?
I’d say if the software does as promised, and saves as much time and effort as promised, then it’s definitely worth a serious gander.
As to the “is it affordable” that obviously depends not so much on how you value your time, but how much you can realistically budget for something like this. Which again, can only be answered by each person.
My $.02 anyway.

Got this email from Gerald today and thought it might be good to include here…

Hi, jp.
I know that you were commenting on Gerald Romine’s system on your website. Dave Lindahl was touting the above last night. It seems to have similarities. Have you or anyone from your staff compared the two? Which one do you think is a better system since both are priced the same @ $995. And both charge a monthly fee of $95 or $99.
Since you’re buds with Gerald, maybe he should be aware of his competition, if he is not already. Feel free to pass the links along. Possibly Gerald would compare the two and comment.
I agree with the concern about the $99 monthly fee. I am impressed with the software and would probably pay the grand for it, but the monthly charge makes it a bit too much. Several computer geeks in our local REI club are now experimenting with something similar and do not think that it will cost a million a year to maintain and update 🙂 Cool product, just a little too pricey in my opinion (value $500)
Can more than one person be on the software at once?
