About JP Moses

JP Moses

JP Moses is a roughly-hewn man-child who first got into REI after reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad back in 2000. After trying to find a local REIA in his hometown (Memphis) and coming up dry, he decided to start one himself. So he started the Memphis Investor Group and grew it right alongside his real estate business for half a dozen years, before retiring from MIG in 2006.

JP started in real estate as a landlord, realized it was a complete mismatch for his personality, and stuck his flag deep into wholesaling instead. He went full time in 2002 and has since wholesaled somewhere north of a couple hundred deals, and had his hands in a little bit of everything else from time to time also - from short sales to rehabbing to Realtoring to BPOs to REO listings to notes to owner financing...blah, blah, blah. Among his core values are authenticity, creativity, delivering big value, general fun-ness and being unshaven.

JP doesn't hold himself up as a “guru” but also doesn't think it's a bad word. He totally loves being chief blogger guy at REItips.com and hosting the free "Real Estate Investing Simplified" podcast, where he stratches his itch for "edutaining" fellow investors.

JP also finds speaking about himself in the third person to be strangely more fun than he expected and may consider it sometimes in real life too, just for fun.

Free Form: Irrevocable Master Fee Agreement »

So in my recent interview with Bulk REO guy Kenny Rushing, he mentioned he typically uses a special document called a “Master Fee Agreement” to protect his interest when brokering a bulk REO deal – one where he acts as a middleman between the seller of a Bulk REO tape and a buyer. Well regardless of [...]
